Help! Help! Help!

You’re screaming so loud, but no one can hear, because your mouth is closed. You would love to open your mouth but life has been so challenging and it appears as though no one cares. That’s why you have resorted to screaming internally.

That’s a feeling many of us experience from one moment to another. We struggle, we scream, we shout, we wail, albeit within. As a result, no one ever knows what we are struggling with, until we collapse, or something goes terribly wrong. We end up having ulcers because we channeled the battle inward and not outward.

Interestingly, when people look at you, they see a smile plastered on your face, they see you dressed well, they see no sign of the turmoil within. Some even believe you are extremely lucky and all the stars in your life are properly aligned. Unfortunately, it feels like there’s a war going on within you and no one else can come through for you. Everyday, you wake up thinking positively but by end of day, nothing has changed and all things are where they were yesterday or have even become worse. You travail every single day.

Guess what!!!

You’ve got to find a way to calm the storm within. The truth is, the more you panic and struggle, even within, the more you drown. Worry and internal unrest only make you sink further into confusion, depression and turmoil. Count one to 50 every time that feeling comes and surrender it to God. God created each of us with the resilience and strength we need to overcome the things life throws our way. Give yourself a chance to discover the limits you can break. You may feel like you’re drowning but when you allow yourself to feel calm and surrender to God, you will realize you are not drowning. You will surely thrive and not just survive.
